95% of the time, it's an exercise in futility. Usually, I walk into promising habitat searching for owls & see anything but. But today...THIS! Came upon this napping Barred Owl just above eye-level in beautiful light. Slowly & deliberately, I crawled to several points trying to remove branches from the frame. At one point, was no more than 15-feet from the bird, and it never flushed, or any showed sign of distress. Literally had tremors in the fingers taking these shots!
