One of my favorite things ever happened yesterday. A female hummingbird brought its BABY (fledgling) to our backyard. Annnd…I just *happened* to have the camera on-hand! After years of striving to create a backyard habitat that wildlife could thrive in, to witness such a magical moment, AND be able to capture it means SO much!
The birds literally perched on an ironweed about eight ft away, one of many flowers I transplanted from a meadow nearby, which has been cleared to build a corporate center.
