10/10/2026 - “Had an unprecedented experience watching Monarch migration at Point Pelee, this morning. The movement started at dawn, and from that point onward, the sky was filled with orange-and-black wings. By 10 AM, 450 individual butterflies had passed. Since they were passing directly above my vantage or nearby, I decided to try photographing them in flight. The hope was to obtain enough sharp frames to stack into a single-image - to try and convey how this experience felt in-person.”
Here is the resulting image - of a morning I will never forget. 67 individual images were stacked in Photoshop - representing more than that many butterflies (some frames contained 2-3 individuals). Consider it art meets photography meets conservation awareness 😊
