In this day-and-age of social media overload, I sometimes find it hard to be truly impressed by new things & experiences. Today's visit to Taughannock Falls State Park was by far the opposite. I can't recall the last time I visited a place that mesmerized and enthralled my psyche and love for the natural world like this. The park's main attraction is its namesake waterfall - a 215-ft plunge which is the largest single-drop falls on this side of the continent (taller than the mighty Niagara). But, the gorge itself is absolutely breathtaking - 400-feet deep at points, and a sheer testament to the power of water, nature, and time.
