Staring down 317-ft. Vernal Falls, raging with snow-melt runoff was a Yosemite highlight, and what ended up being a 9-mile hike was my favorite of the trip. For a trek with over 2000-ft elevation gain, it's a very popular trail, and quite narrow in places (you can see it in the bottom left of this image). I left very early in the morning, and flying downhill past the very angry, winded mobs later that morning was a surprisingly gratifying feeling 🙂
