Lots to love ‘bout this shot. The emerald New River standing out against a stark wintry gorge. The bent pine bow mirroring the bridge’s arch. Minutes earlier, Dave Green & I polar-plunged into that very river - 42 degrees on a 26 degree day. Then, we hiked to this vantage, Bridge Buttress - one of the tougher scrambles around. That’s what I call a solid New Year’s Day!
