Have had this shot in mind & we camped at Heritage Farms in Cuyahoga Valley National Park this weekend to make it happen. This is a combination of 356 shots to capture both firefly activity & the earth’s rotation around the north star.
Perhaps more interesting were the firefly species captured. Most seem to show a greenish-blue double-flash, very high flight, and were active quite late (11 PM onwards). This isn’t very consistent with any one type in my reading, and I’d love to hear from anyone more knowledgeable on this ID of this species. Zoom in on the sky to see the flash patterns described!
